Redefine Data Protection

1130 - 1200

Today’s IT landscape spans physical to virtual, on premise to cloud, Platform 1 to Platform 3, and everything in between. The only constant is the data. Data protection has never been more important as business transforms across this shifting landscape. Regardless of how much data you have, what applications are creating it or where it resides, all data needs protection. EMC sets the stage for this new data protection reality, one that demands increased user control and visibility, a protection continuum and “as a service” consumption models. Find out how EMC data protection and availability solutions, including Avamar, Data Domain, NetWorker, RecoverPoint, VPLEX and more are meeting these requirements.

You’ve made the decision to turbo charge your business’s IT operations by implementing a Microsoft Private Cloud. Key to your business is availability of data and mission critical applications. How do you properly protect the data you unleash? Are you backing up your cloud-based infrastructure efficiently? Do you want to offer a self-service model that enables system administrators a level of control over backup? Find out how EMC helps you address these questions with innovative features that support best practices for protecting your highly scalable Microsoft Private Cloud resources and application data.

Advanced Security Redefined

1500 - 1530

More attacks are being faced lately than ever before, with breaches reported across all industries. Organizations are evolving from 'how do we prevent a breach' to 'how do we most quickly detect and respond to a breach when it inevitably occurs’. This session discusses best practices for using intelligence-driven security for collection and analysis of threats, vulnerabilities and consequences. Whether small business or global service provider, security teams need to be equipped with the right tools in order to gain visibility, respond to incidents more quickly, and adequately distribute resources where they matter the most.

How Intelligence-Driven Security Solutions Redefine the Threat Landscape

1545 - 1615

This presentation dives into the technical details of an intelligence-driven platform for security and explains how best to respond to the latest and most persistent threats. Security teams today need four things to gain the upper hand and be better positioned to protect against attacks as well as respond quickly when incidents occur:

  • Better visibility: see everything happening, from networks to servers, applications to endpoints.
  • More contextual data and analytics: prioritize issues more effectively and concentrate resources on issues that have the most impact.
  • Actionable intelligence from diverse sources, both internal and external, help security teams find what to look for in a more automated way and respond to it more quickly.
  • Scalable architecture: support new data sources, applications, and analytic approaches.

In addition, you will also utilize data protection services such as snapshots and perform administrative tasks such as scanning alerts, viewing system components, and managing permanent spares.
EMC NetWorker and RecoverPoint-The Data Protection Continuum APJ Because of the high costs and increasing pressure to minimize data loss and downtime, traditional approaches to data protection are no longer sufficient. Traditionally, businesses relied solely on once-a-day backup routines using tape-based or disk-to-tape-based data protection solutions. In today's "always on" economy and increasing reliance on mission critical data, you and the rest of your IT team realize the need of more than a daily full backup. In this vLab, see how integration with EMC NetWorker to orchestrate and control RecoverPoint snapshots is easily implemented. Learn best practices for extending those snapshots for application server off-loaded backup retention using NetWorker to roll over array-based snapshots to EMC Data Domain systems.
EMC InfoArchive 3.0 Unified Archiving Platform APJ This vLab introduces users to features of EMC Infoarchive which preserves the value of enterprise data and content to comply with long-term retention requirements in an easily accessible unified archive. In this lab users complete exercise to:
  • Accelerate your application decommissioning and modernization objectives while retaining valuable information in an easily accessible unified archive.
  • Reduce the risk of long term information retention for regulatory and compliance requirements with one consolidated archive.
  • Improve application performance by archiving high-volume static enterprise information into an easily accessible unified archive.
VNXe3200 Unisphere Management This vLab showcases the ease of use of the VNXe storage system. Learn how to use Unisphere for VNXe to perform a range of management tasks such as viewing system components, configuring storage pools, LUNs, provisioning NAS Server resources, and observing system performance.
