Web 2.0 technologies (including AJAX, mashups, wikis, RSS, social tagging, etc.) are inspiring new thinking in using browser and network technologies to solve various problems. Companies like Google have revolutionized the way users interact with web applications and changed the way developers think about building web based distributed computing solutions. EMC is taking a Web 2.0 approach to build a visual data center map and applying it to a use case with EMC Customer Support and its Global Services organizations to build ad-hoc or situational applications to resolve customer inquiries more efficiently and accurately.

Today, administrators have to manually correlate information from printouts, management consoles, and log file searches to see what is happening in the data center. With Web 2.0 TCE, you will learn that a visual map using Web 2.0 technologies provides an easy-to-navigate view of the data center by mashing up a number of different technologies to provide a single view.
